The Fortunate Few
The Fortunate Few
Jan-Pieter Delcour, the singer-songwriter from Brussels, produces/plays together with his group The Fortunate Few (finalist Zennetoer and Popfolio) ‘story pop’ with a very personal, original sound.
Because of the special sound of their music, close to ‘sing and song though punchy enough, you are plunged into a whole new atmosphere. Sometimes on the thin line between silence and sound, sometimes delightfully ‘groovy’, but especially moving/touching every single time. This band brilliantly combines voices and their lead vocal is very convincing.
From the first EP the song ‘Marillon’ was played by Radio 1 and it was chosen as the winner of the week by the music editors of Studio Brussel for VI.BE ON AIR. ‘Sudden Void’ was chosen on FM Brussel as a winner.
The music reviewers wrote positively about the first EP of this band:
“The band centred around Jan-Pieter Delcour succeeded with ‘Marillon’ in delivering an especially beautiful single, appreciated by many. With their intriguing layers and their genuine sound The Fortunate Few engrave ‘Marillon’ in your musical memory.” (Cuttingedge)
Meanwhile, live, the band can hold its own. They for instance already performed in Nijdrop, Dranouter Muziekcentrum, AB Club, Gentse Feesten, Vijverfestival, FAZ, and many more. Nonetheless, the most beautiful performance was support act for Gabriel Rios in Openluchttheater Rivierenhof.
Review support act Gabriel Rios: “The songs express a lively variety and also a very solid musical base. The song Sudden Void is very catchy. This band surely won many fans/followers after this support act.” (Concertnews)
